Streetly Dementia Support Group was proud to support the Streetly Community Centre September Fayre, bringing local people, families and organisations together. It was a great opportunity to raise awareness of dementia, share information about local support and connect with our community, while enjoying a fantastic day with everyone who attended.
Streetly Dementia Support Group is proud to introduce Inglewood Connect, an exciting new project designed to enhance the wellbeing of people living with dementia through interactive cognitive stimulation and video calling.
The project has been developed to help people remain connected, engaged, and stimulated in a safe and enjoyable way. Using simple, easy-to-access technology, Inglewood Connect offers a range of interactive activities that encourage conversation, memory recall, creativity, and mental stimulation while also making it easier for people to stay in touch with loved ones.
For many people living with dementia, maintaining social connections can become increasingly difficult. Inglewood Connect helps bridge that gap by providing accessible video calling, allowing families and friends to share meaningful moments together, regardless of distance. Whether it's a regular chat with grandchildren or catching up with relatives who live further afield, the platform aims to reduce feelings of isolation and strengthen important relationships.

Alongside video calling, the interactive cognitive stimulation activities have been carefully chosen to promote engagement, encourage reminiscence, and support cognitive wellbeing. From quizzes and games to music, photographs, and conversation prompts, the activities are designed to be enjoyable while helping to stimulate memory, communication, and confidence.
At Streetly Dementia Support Group, we believe that technology should never replace human connection, it should enhance it. Inglewood Connect has been created with that vision in mind, giving people living with dementia more opportunities to interact, stay mentally active, and remain connected to the people and community that matter most.
As the project continues to develop, we look forward to introducing new features, expanding the range of activities available, and working with local dementia groups, care homes, and families to ensure Inglewood Connect continues to meet the needs of those who use it.
Together, we are building more than a digital platform, we are creating opportunities for connection, conversation, and companionship, helping people living with dementia to live well and stay connected.
What makes Inglewood Connect truly special is that it has been designed and built entirely from scratch by Streetly Dementia Support Group. Every resident has their own personalised digital room, where families can upload treasured photographs, favourite music, videos, and meaningful memories. This creates a unique space that reflects each person's life story and encourages meaningful conversations and reminiscence.
