Keeping active, engaged and connected can make a real difference to the wellbeing of someone living with dementia. These Activity Ideas has been created to provide inspiration for enjoyable, meaningful activities that can be adapted to suit different interests, abilities and stages of dementia.
Here you will find information about local companies and organisations offering dementia-friendly activities, along with simple ideas and easy-to-follow guides for activities you can enjoy together at home.
Activities don't have to be complicated or expensive. A favourite song, looking through old photographs, baking, gardening, crafts or simply having a conversation about happy memories can all provide valuable moments of connection and enjoyment.
The most important thing is to focus on enjoyment rather than achievement. Choose activities that feel familiar, give the person a sense of purpose and, most importantly, create opportunities to spend quality time together.

A Good Day understands the impact of social isolation on our wellbeing, especially as we grow older or when we are facing the challenges that come with conditions that affect the brain, spinal cord or nervous system.
Our tools and resources create joyful moments and build stronger connections. We recognise the power of a meaningful conversation, and that the mental health of families and care givers is equally as important.
All our products are Dementia friendly and designed alongside people with lived experience. Love and empathy is at the heart of everything that we do. No matter what challenges come our way, we believe that people can still live a fulfilled and happy life with the right support and care.

Cognitive Books is a UK-based publisher dedicated to creating engaging and accessible reading materials for individuals living with Dementia.
Founded by gerontologist Matt Singleton, the initiative was inspired by his father, Brian, who experienced challenges in following traditional narratives after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
This personal experience led to the development of books tailored to meet the cognitive needs of those with Dementia, aiming to rekindle their love for reading. Each book includes exercises and offers a free audio download, allowing readers to enjoy them independently or with loved ones.
