Who are we?

Streetly Dementia Support Group was founded in 2024 to address the growing need for Dementia awareness, resources, and community support in Streetly and surrounding areas. With the prevalence of Dementia rising due to an aging population, we recognise the increasing challenge faced by individuals living with Dementia, as well as their families and caregivers.

Our CIC (Community Interest Company) was launched in 2025 and is committed to ensuring that those affected by Dementia have access to the vital information, support networks, and resources they need to improve their quality of life. Our sole purpose is to benefit the community of Streetly and the surrounding areas by raising awareness and funds for Dementia related initiatives.

All monies raised are directly reinvested into supporting the local community, as a non-profit organisation committed to making a positive impact. While operating like a regular company, we are legally protected to ensure that our profits and assets are used solely for social good. As a Community Interest Company (CIC), we are regulated by the Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies and must pass a "community interest test" to demonstrate that we serve a public benefit. We aim to raise awareness and create a supportive environment where families and caregivers can find assistance and a sense of community.

Through outreach programs, educational initiatives, and partnerships with local organisations, our goal is to positively impact those living with Dementia and their families and friends. We seek to offer guidance and emotional support, as well as connect people to local services and activities that can enhance their daily lives.

Our mission is to support and empower individuals, families, and communities, ensuring that no one faces Dementia alone.

Our Story so far...

The founder of Streetly Dementia Support Group CIC has been dedicated to supporting individuals affected by dementia since 2017, initially volunteering with the Alzheimer's Society. As a registered Community Link Volunteer and Dementia Friend Ambassador, they have actively contributed to raising awareness, educating the public, and supporting various Dementia related initiatives.

Throughout their involvement, our founder has delivered numerous Dementia Friends Information Sessions, raised funds for vital research and support services, and collaborated closely with local Dementia focused groups to address the needs of the community. Their passion for improving the lives of those impacted by Dementia has driven them to expand the reach of Dementia education and create meaningful connections within the community.

This wealth of experience has directly shaped the mission and values of Streetly Dementia Support Group CIC, with a strong focus on providing essential resources, support, and information to individuals living with Dementia, as well as their families, carers, and the wider community. Our founder’s commitment to promoting Dementia awareness remains at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that we continue to make a lasting, positive impact in Streetly and surrounding areas.
